Wow, it’s been a while since we’ve added to our blog! Things in Sayulita have been an incredible journey, even though we’ve been staying relatively still.

Our summer road trip from Mexico back up to Canada was full of adventures and photos, including a trip to the Earthroamer Factory, which is a huge blog post in itself!

We’ve been back in Sayulita since mid-August, and survived the heat and humidity of the rainy season! It’s pretty exciting to now be walking around town without sweating through our clothes and sleeping at night without 3 fans blowing on us and to actually need a real blanket!

The Sayulita Surf Hotel is slowly coming along. We’ve been putting a lot of effort into redecorating some of the rooms, revamping the rooftop patio, and have been fortunate to have our friend Emily come to visit and help us with some painting to really freshen the place up.

If it wasn’t enough to be starting a whole new business, we’re also working toward a massive relaunch of our yoga business coaching program for January. Oh yeah, and then of course there’s all the kids activities like surf, SUP boarding, futbol, and making time to just hang out on the beach as a family.

We just got back from One Fire Hot Yoga Festival in Puerto Morelos and are so grateful to have been able to reconnect with our yoga practice and our yogi friends from all over. There is tons of yoga in Sayulita, but a lot of it is “vacation yoga” so we really needed some inspiring teachers and hot yoga classes. We’ve tried to substitute the intensity of the practice we so love with fitness classes and surfing, but after doing some sessions with a Mayan Shaman at One Fire, we realize again how powerful our yoga practice is for moving blocked energy and keeping everything flowing the way it is intended to be.

This is why we are so excited that our good friends from Bikram Yoga East Austin will be running a yoga beach retreat right here in Sayulita in February 2019. There are some really incredible teachers coming down to teach daily hot yoga classes - the 26 & 2 sequence that we all love so much, as well as lots of other yoga classes to try including backbending conditioning and yoga nidra. And we’ll be teaching some classes, too.

The accommodations are really beautiful. We’ve taught classes at Villas Sayulita and the room can get nice and sweaty. The grounds are also really beautiful and include a secret garden, healthy restaurant where we’ll be eating super fresh nourishing meals, outdoor palapa area, a pool, and just a few minutes walk to the beach, restaurants, and shops.

Check out the poster and info on the retreat below. If you’d like more info please email us, or you can also contact our good friend Gabe at to find out more and get yourself signed up for some sun, surf, and of course, yoga!
